Jon Dodds has been a dedicated and active member of the Fairmont State University Board of Governors for five years. For the past five years, Jon has served as a board member of the West Virginia Three Rivers Festival Board of Directors. West Virginia Black Heritage Festival
Jon has been an integral part of the West Virginia Black Heritage Festival for over six years, focusing on the festival's digital presence and promotion. He manages the festival's website and social media accounts, ensuring effective communication and outreach. Jon is also responsible for filming and producing festival videos and live streams, achieving over 65,000 views. As the chair of the entertainment committee, he plays a key role in organizing and promoting the festival's events, contributing to its success and cultural impact.

Preserving Local History
Jon Dodds is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of Fairmont through his "Unearthing Fairmont’s History" video series. This series, which started by accident, now boasts 11 episodes and over 35,000 views.
It began when Jon, after multiple attempts, found the grave of Francis Pierpont and decided to create a video showing how to locate it. Local historian Dr. Raymond Alvarez took notice and suggested new topics, providing valuable research information.

Jon works closely with Dora Grubb and the local Historical Museum and Society to preserve history, promote events, and publicize their work. His efforts ensure that both the past and present of Fairmont are celebrated and remembered.

Community Partnerships
Jon Dodds is deeply committed to fostering community partnerships that enhance the quality of life in our district, county, and state. His involvement spans numerous local groups and councils dedicated to making a difference. Through his efforts, Jon has made significant contributions that demonstrate his dedication to service and community improvement.
Jon has delivered cyber security presentations to town councils and various groups, helping to safeguard our community's digital infrastructure. He has actively participated in and promoted drug addiction/problem workshops, bringing attention to crucial issues affecting our area. As a civic deed, he designed, configured, and installed a next-generation IT network for the county bureau at no charge.
Jon initiated the live streaming of city and county government meetings, significantly increasing transparency. He has also rung Salvation Army bells during the holidays, worked with local and state legislators on road and other pressing issues, and live-streamed parades and community events to keep the public informed and engaged.
In addition, Jon has assisted local church pastors in promoting their community works, participated in health events, and dedicated countless hours to community service and volunteer work. His videos, promotions, and live streams have amassed over 184,000 local views, underscoring his impact and dedication to our communities.
